Supporting Those Impacted by Hurricane Harvey

Hurricane Harvey Bank Relief Efforts

This past week’s arrival of Hurricane Harvey to the southeast coast of Texas and its devastating path inland has wreaked havoc on the families and businesses of the region.  At the same time, the tragic event has also provided some much-needed perspective and unity within our nation, as complete strangers from all parts of the country are providing their support in whatever means possible.

Our content is typically focused on the latest trends and innovative strategies in our industry, but this week it seems insignificant given the tragedy taking place before our eyes as a result of Hurricane Harvey.  Fortunately, there have been several banking associations and industry friends that have shared ways that banks can provide assistance to those in need during this difficult time.  We are donating and wanted to share this information as well.

The Texas Bankers Association, the Independent Bankers Association of Texas, the American Bankers Association and the Independent Community Bankers of America are joining together to coordinate efforts for those who wish to contribute to the recovery and relief effort for bankers and their families who’ve been affected by the storm and the subsequent flooding.  The TBA Foundation is coordinating the collection of money and will establish a method to evaluate and assist those in most need.  The TBA Foundation is a charitable trust, so donations are tax deductible.  100% of contributions made to this effort will be disbursed to deserving families.  Click the link below for more information:
